Robert C. Garufi

Robert C. Garufi, 70 of Fairfield, NJ died on Monday November 10, 2008 at Mountainside Hospital. Born in the Bronx, NY, Mr. Garufi was a Chemical Engineer for 41 years for Picatenny Arsenal, Dover, NJ, retiring in 2001. He was a 1960 graduate of the College of the City of New York where he earned a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering Degree. In the 1960s, as a member of the Foster Parents Plan, Mr. Garufi adopted a nine year old boy and financially supported him and his family for 15 years. He felt that Americans had many more advantages and wished to help those who were less fortunate. Beloved husband of Linda (nee LiVolsi). Loving father of David and his wife Megan and Mark and his wife Wendy and Steven Garufi. Cherished grandfather of Jack and Caroline. The funeral will be on Thursday at 9AM from the Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home, 7 Two Bridges Rd, Fairfield with a 10AM Mass at St. Thomas More RC Church in Fairfield.
