Tibor M. Kalocsay, 93, passed away peacefully in his bed at Sunrise of Cresskill, NJ on April 22, 2016. He was born on December 7, 1922 to Joseph and Stephanie Kalocsay in Vrutky, Slovakia. He studied law in Bratislava and worked as a prosecutor in Zilina before fleeing Stalinist oppression and escaping to Germany. He spent several years in Germany working for Radio Free Europe before immigrating to the United States where he became a naturalized citizen. He met and married his wife Elena Eva Culen in Cleveland and together they moved to New York City where they spent over 40 years and raised their three children. Following the death of his wife in 2009 he moved to Sunrise of Cresskill. He was pre-deceased by his wife Elena Eva and his daughter Eva. He is survived by his two sons, Charlie & his wife Cindy of Annapolis, MD and Paul & his wife Robyn of Fort Lee, NJ, his grandchildren Christina, Luke, Logan and Ryan, and his brother Joseph. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday 11AM at Holy Trinity R.C. Church in Fort Lee. Cremation private. Arrangements are under the direction of Hunt-Stellato Funeral Home, 1601 Palisade Ave. Fort Lee.
