Blasi, Alette (nee Popowich), 70, of Fairfield, New Jersey, passed away on Thursday, March 17, 2016, at St. Barnabas Medical Center, Livingston, New Jersey, with her loving husband beside her. Alette was a devoted employee of the Garfield Public School System for 35 years before retiring in 2006. She worked first as a physical education and driver's education teacher, and later as a guidance counselor. Her creativity and generosity touched countless young lives.
Alette was a loving friend to many and always had a kind word to offer. She was compassionate, unique, and beautiful from the inside out. Her faith in God never wavered and her devotion to prayer helped many of her loved ones in both good times and bad. She had a one-of-a-kind personality and light that shined through and touched all those around her.
Alette is survived by her loving husband of 34 years, Carmen Blasi. Together, the couple shared a happy, wonderful life in Fairfield, New Jersey. Beloved daughter of the late Peter & Margaret (nee Chabora) Popowich. Dear sister in-law of Linda & her husband Frank Russomanno, and Gerardo Blasi. Cherished aunt of Michele & her husband James Kula, Kimberly Russomanno and Alexander & his wife Maria Salta. Also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members and friends.
