Angela "Maria" Malzone

Angela “Maria” Malzone (ne Pierro), 93, of Lyndhurst, NJ passed away surrounded by family on Saturday, December 12, 2020. Beloved wife of the late Giuseppe Malzone. Loving mother of Rose Romeo and her husband Gino, Jimmy Malzone and his wife Barbara, Anna Roofe and her husband Joe. Devoted grandmother of Jimmy Romeo and his wife Donna, Marianne Cafaro and her husband Tom, Bobby Romeo and his wife Patty, JoeJoe Roofe and his wife Katie, Maria Roofe, Christina Roofe, Danny Malzone, Jackie Malzone, and Nicole Malzone. Doting great- grandmother of Jimmy and Joey Romeo, Thomas and Anthony Cafaro, Penny and Gino Romeo, and the late Giuliana Cafaro, and one more great-grandchild on the way.
Mrs. Malzone came to the U.S. with her family from Montecorice, Italy on July 13, 1955. She lived in West New York before moving to Lyndhurst in 1961, where she spent the rest of her life. Mrs. Malzone worked in the Butcher Department of the Rutherford ShopRite for 20 years before retiring in 1993 to become a fulltime mother, grandmother, and eventually great-grandmother. Through her hard work and generosity, she selflessly gave her entire life for her family, always putting them first. She had hands of gold, from jarring tomatoes to making homemade pasta; she even made the annual apple picking outing memorable by packing a fabulous picnic lunch. Every meal she made was amazing! Funeral Friday 9AM, December 18, 2020 from the Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home, 425 Ridge Rd. Lyndhurst NJ. Funeral Mass 10AM at Sacred Heart Church, Lyndhurst. Entombment to follow at Holy Cross Chapel Mausoleum, North Arlington. Friends will be received Thursday from 1-4PM & 7-9PM at the funeral home.
