Ann Marie Vecchione

Ann Marie (nee Fuchs) Vecchione, 74, of Fairfield, New Jersey passed peacefully on Tuesday morning, October 8, 2024. Beloved wife of Dr. Edward J. Vecchione. Loving mother of Dana & her husband Dr. Joseph Brignola and Erika & her husband Alexander Albu. Adored grandmother of Luke, Sofia, Ava, Mason, Mila, Maddox & Matteo. Dear sister of Debbie & her late husband Tom Gunick and Darlene Fuchs. Cherished aunt of Tommy Gunick and Dara Rapillo. 

Ann Marie was born and raised in Newark where her parents, William and Fortunata, instilled the value of family tradition. She attended Catholic school where she met her husband at the age of ten. It was here, selling fudge pops during recess, that she earned her nickname of Fudge. Married to Edward for 51 years, she truly knew how to make a house a home. 

 Of all the things Ann Marie loved, nothing could come close to the love she had for her seven grandchildren, ranging from age twenty-one to two. She celebrated everything, no matter how small, and lived for family dinners, birthday parties and, of course, Christmas Eve. Ann Marie knew how to make the holidays magical. From Christmas pajamas falling from the roof to spending days making batches of struffoli, her example of family and love has engrained the value of tradition into her daughters and grandchildren. 

Ann Marie will be remembered for her selflessness, generosity, spunk and one would be remiss to ignore her eggplant parmigiana. But her most precious legacy will be seen through the memories, stories and smiles of her most cherished grandchildren.
