Anthony C. Girardo, 89, of Rutherford, New Jersey, formerly of Lyndhurst, passed away on Monday, December 5, 2016. Beloved husband of the late Anna M. Girardo (nee DeMarco). Loving father of Ann Marie & her husband Jack Murtha, Anthony & his wife Maria Girardo, Catherine & her husband Robert Van Dyk, Theresa & her husband Andrew Stenz, and Leonard & his wife Elizabeth Girardo. Cherished grandfather of Tinamarie & her husband Michael Furino, Joseph Orrego, Rhiannon Girardo & her boyfriend Vincent Policastro, Michelle Orrego, Jared Stenz, Matthew & his wife Samantha Van Dyk, Rebecca Van Dyk & her fiance Joseph Olivo, Dean Girardo, and Noelle Girardo. Adored great-grandfather of Haiden Sanders and Vincent Policastro. Also survived by many loving nieces & nephews. Mr. Girardo was an usher at Sacred Heart Church for over 20 years. He was a Terminal Manager for McLean Trucking before retiring and a World War II Army veteran. He was an avid Yankee fan and enjoyed spending time and cooking with his family and friends. Funeral service Wednesday 9:30AM from the Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home, 425 Ridge Road, Lyndhurst. Funeral Mass 10:30AM Sacred Heart R.C. Church. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery. Friends will be received Tuesday 4-8PM.
