Barbara Jean Rente

Barbara Jean Rente (ne Pfluge), 68, of Lyndhurst, New Jersey passed away at St. Marys Hospital in Passaic, New Jersey on Saturday, April 25, 2020. She was born to the late Frank and Catherine “Kay” Pfluge on June 29, 1951 in Newark, New Jersey.
She was a graduate of Queen of Peace High School and went on to earn an Associates Degree from Bergen Community College and a Bachelors Degree from Jersey City State University. Barbara began her teaching career in the Lyndhurst Public Schools. She retired in 2011 after almost 30 years of service at St Anthonys Passaic Catholic Regional Elementary School. Mrs. Rente was a resident of Lyndhurst since 1973. She was an active member of her community where she was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Lyndhurst Volunteer Department. She was also a longtime parishioner of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church.
Family and friends were Barbaras passion and delight. Barbara is survived by her husband of 46 years, Louis Rente. She is also lovingly remembered by her son, Daniel Rente, and daughter and son-in-law Brianne and Thomas Wood as well as her grandchildren Joseph, Alexandra, Vincent, Trinity and Victoria. Barbara was also the dear sister of Buddy Pfluge and his wife Patti, David Pfluge and his wife Ann and Susan Pfluge. She was the daughter-in-law of Mario Rente and the late Esperanza Rente.
A memorial service and burial will be at a date to be determined when we can all gather together to celebrate her life. The family wishes to thank those who have extended their support during this time. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Barbaras name may be made to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital.
