Bernice Holicki

Holicki, Bernice (nee Kozak), 71, of Lyndhurst, died on Wednesday, June 10, 2009, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Poland, Bernice came to the United States in 1965 and lived in Jersey City. Upon marrying her husband Kazimierz (Kaz) in 1968, she lived in Nutley before settling in Lyndhurst 34 years ago. Mrs. Holicki worked for Reliable Miller Casket Company as a seamstress for 20 years until retiring 6 years ago to take on her new job as grandmother to her 4 grandchildren. Mrs. Holicki was an active parishioner of St. Michael's Church in Lyndhurst and served as president of the Polish Rosary Society. Mrs. Holicki was also a co-founder and first President of the Parents Association of the St. Michael's Polish School over 25 years ago which still exists today. She was a member of the Polish American Club of Lyndhurst and the Polish American Club of North Jersey. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her three loving children and their spouses Elizabeth Casale & her Husband Paul of Old Bridge, Diane Bowling & her Husband Brian of Nutley, Richard Holicki & his Wife Christine of Lyndhurst. She will be missed by her grandchildren Paula Casale, Andrew & Lauren Bowling & Jacob Holicki. Also survived by her sister and best friend Mary Niemczyk of Bayonne, brother Boleslaw Kozak and sister Krystyna Kwiecien both in Poland, plus her extended family of cousins, nieces and nephews, etc. Funeral at 9AM from the Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home, 425 Ridge Rd., Lyndhurst. Funeral Mass 10AM St. Michael's R.C. Church. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery. Friends will be received Saturday 6-9PM and Sunday 2-4 & 7-9PM.
