Beverly Eckhardt

Beverly Eckhardt, 90, of Pine Brook passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by family on October 19, 2022. Born Beverly Joan Vanderhoof in Fairfield NJ to the late William and Helen Vanderhoof. Beloved wife of the late Frederick Ernest Eckhardt. Loving mother of Cathy & her late husband Glenn Holzmann, Rick & his wife Nancy Eckhardt, Cheryl & her husband Allan Meytrott, Lori Eckhardt & her wife Christine Nixon, and the late Brenda Lynn Doerr. Cherished grandmother of Brian McLane, Philip Doerr, Scott McLane, Jamie Barritta, Kevin McLane, Douglas Doerr, Adam Doerr, Laura Miller, Melissa Major, Taylor Meytrott, Kyle Doerr, Amanda Filipe, Hunter Meytrott, Parker Meytrott, Sara Meytrott, Connor Meytrott, and the late Jennifer Lynn Doerr. Adored Great-grandmother of 18. Dear sister of Richard Vanderhoof & his late wife Karen and the late William Vanderhoof & his surviving wife Margo. Sister-in-law of Linda Nazar, her late husband Rudy, and her significant other Bill Nagy. Also survived by many nieces & nephews. Mrs. Eckhardt lived a beautiful, dignified life. She was devoted, strong willed, loving, and kind. Her husband, Fred, adored her; they eloped in April of 1953. They had 5 children, 17 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren whom she loved and cherished. She could often be found on the sidelines of her grandchildren's sporting events cheering them on from her folding chair. Beverly cherished fun times with her friends and family. Although the beach was her happy place, she enjoyed making memories playing poker, backgammon, horseshoes or just relaxing with a cigarette doing crossword puzzles. She was an avid reader. She served her community supporting the Republican Club and Senior Club. She had a great sense of humor and loved to throw out witty one liners. She filled the hearts of those around her with love and cherished memories. Funeral Service Wednesday 10AM at the Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home, 7 Two Bridges Road, Fairfield. Interment Restland Memorial Park, East Hanover. Friends will be received Tuesday 4-8PM.
