Bret Craig Torppey

Bret Craig Torppey, 63, went Home to be with our Lord on May 21, 2022.
He was a resident in Lyndhurst, NJ. Born in Boonton, NJ on December 27, 1958, he was predeceased by his parents, John Torppey in 2016 and Ruth Torppey (Green) in 2018.

Cherished father, boyfriend, brother, and friend, he is survived by his 3 children, Kayla Torppey and husband Abelardo Muniz, Amanda Torppey and boyfriend Leandro Villar, and Lea Torppey. He is also survived by his loving girlfriend, Joyce Forbeck, his high school sweetheart. He is the fourth of eight children, Jackellyn McManus, Lance Torppey, Robin Orcutt, Scott Torppey, Wade Torppey, Shawn Torppey, and Bliss Trunfio.

He graduated in 1977 from High Point Regional High School in Sussex, NJ and attended Delaware Valley University before pursuing a 40-year career in Ironworking.

In his spare time, you could find him feeding his chickens and taking care of animals, doing home improvement projects, buying and fixing mopeds, being eBays #1 customer, Red Bulls biggest fan, and complaining about the New York Jets. He enjoyed spending time at his vacation home in Fort Myers, FL, which he took pride in his complete renovation and decoration. He performed in rock bands most of his life and never stopped singing. His personality commanded every room, his captivating stories were endless, and he made people laugh with his effortless humor.

He will be remembered for being a proud father and caring boyfriend who would do anything for his children and Joyce. He led a religious life, devoted to Christ and His teachings, always putting others before himself and doing what was right. He was the ultimate daredevil whose invincible spirit will live on through his loved ones.

Family and friends will be received Thursday May 26th from 4-9PM at the Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home, Lyndhurst. Funeral Service Friday 11AM at the Funeral Home. Interment to follow at Hillside cemetery, Lyndhurst. Flowers are welcome, or donations may be made in Brets parents memory to the Alzheimers Association.
