Bryan R. Hennig, 62, a dedicated public servant and esteemed member of the Lyndhurst community, passed away peacefully on August 26, 2023. Born on February 2, 1961, Bryan's life was marked by kindness, gentleness, and selflessness. He is survived by his sister, Barbara Sparta, and brother-in-law, Stephen Sparta. He was the cherished son of the late Roy and Edith Hennig. Also survived by his Fire Department family within Lyndhurst and beyond.
Bryan's career was a testament to his commitment to service. He served as the Bergen County Fire Marshal and was a former Chief of the Lyndhurst Fire Department. His dedication to his community was further exemplified through his active membership in the Lyndhurst Fire Department.
Bryan's life was guided by the words of Albert Schweitzer, "The purpose of human life is to serve, and to show compassion and the will to help others." This quote encapsulates Bryan's spirit and the legacy he leaves behind. His memory will forever be cherished by his family, friends, and the community he served so selflessly. Barbara & Stephen were blessed to have the most loving brother in their lives. He was the best!
Friends will be received Tuesday 2-8PM at the Ippolito Stellato Funeral Home, 425 Ridge Rd., Lyndhurst. A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday 11AM at the Lyndhurst Fire Headquarters, 299 Delafield Ave., Lyndhurst. Private Interment Crest Haven Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Lyndhurst Fire Department or the Lyndhurst United Methodist Church.
