Carmine L. Torsiello was born in North Arlington, NJ on June 9, 1930. He resided in Rutherford for 40 years. Mr. Torsiello was president of C&J Glass Works, Inc.in North Arlington for 50 years. He was a US Army Veteran. He served on numerous Rotary committees since he joined Kearny Rotary Club in 1954 and No. Arlington Rotary Club in 1959, including President of the No. Arlington club. His civic activities include President, amd Board of Directors of Pioneer Boys of America, Member and past Chairman of Board of Directors of West Hudson Hospital, Chairman of the United Way Fundraising Committee, past secretary NC Glass Dealers Assn., past member and co-chairman of the Community Chest of West Hudson, past member of the Knights of Columbus and No. Arlington Elks, Man of the Year of the West Hudson-South Bergen Chamber of Commerce, UNICO Man of the Year, Teaneck Rotary Club Man of the year. He is survived by his wife Mary (nee Taylor), daughters, Barbara Vayda of Brick, Frances Campbell of Belleville, Debra Atkin of Toms River, Patricia Stern of California and son, Daniel Torsiello of Toms River. He is also survived by a sister Rose Gebauer of No. Arlington, and a brother, Daniel Torsiello of Rutherford. Also surviving are 5 grandchildren.The funeral will be Thursday, 10AM from the Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home Lyndhurst with an 11AM mass at Queen of Peace RC Church. Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Chapel Mausoleum. Friends will be received Tuesday 7-9PM and Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9PM.
