Catherine Arecchi

Catherine Campanella Arecchi LaBarbera, 96, passed away peacefully at Holy Name Hospital, the same hospital where she worked as a volunteer many years ago after she had retired from Scholastic Magazines. She was the daughter of Giusto Campanella and Giustina [Favar] Campanella, who had immigrated from Lercara Friddi, Sicily. She was predeceased by her husband Vincent Arecchi and her sister, Jane Melone. She is survived by her husband Joseph LaBarbera, her son Angelo Arecchi and daughter-in-law Kathleen of Hebron, New Hampshire, son Justin Arecchi and daughter-in-law Fiona of San Antonio, Texas, son Vincent Arecchi and daughter-in-law Carole of Long Valley, New Jersey, six grandchildren, and one great-granddaughter. Catherine was born in Jersey City and lived many years in North Bergen, Bergenfield, and most recently Lyndhurst. Funeral at 9AM from the Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home, 425 Ridge Road, Lyndhurst, NJ. Funeral Mass 10AM Our Lady of Mt. Carmel R.C. Church. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery. Friends will be received Tuesday 4-8PM.
