Charles J. Scrivanich

Charles J. Scrivanich age 65 of Clifton, NJ died on June 14, 2003 at the General Hospital of Passaic. Born in North Arlington, he lived in Lyndhurst most of his life before moving to Clifton 18 years ago. Charles was a payroll supervisor for New Jersey Transit in Hoboken where he worked for 28 years. He attended the University of Notre Dame on a baseball scholarship and played in two College World Series. He later signed with and played in the Cincinatti Reds baseball organization for 2 years. A member of the Notre Dame Monogram Club, he was also selected as a member of the St. Mary's Athletic Hall of Fame and is a member of the St. Mary's Alumni Association. Charles served in the United States Army Reserve from 1960-1966. Devoted companion of Joyce Onde and her son Richard of Clifton. Dear brother of Louis "Luke" and Raymond Scrivanich and Joanne Guidone. He is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews. The funeral will be held on Wednesday at 8:30am on June 18, 2003 from the Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home 425 Ridge Rd. Lyndhurst with a 9:30am Mass at St. Mary's RC Church in Rutherford. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. Friends will be received on Tuesday 2-4 & 7-9pm.
