Concetta Vonoflorio

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Concetta Vonoflorio, who passed peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Thursday, January 16, 2025, at the age of 90. Born on September 4, 1934, in the serene town of Marineo, Sicily, Italy to Ciro & Maria Cannella (nee Montalbano). Concetta emigrated to the United States in 1968. She lived in Garfield for four years before settling in Fairfield in 1972, where she raised her family and remained a life long resident.

Concetta was a woman of deep family values and unwavering strength. She embraced life with a tenacity that inspired those around her. She dedicated her life to nurturing her family, especially her grandchildren. She instilled in them the virtues of hard work, love, and loyalty. Concetta's love for her family was matched only by her deep-rooted appreciation for her Italian heritage, celebrating life with delicious homecooked meals and joyful gatherings. She could often be found outdoors tending to her garden. Concetta was a devout Roman Catholic and parishioner of Holy Angels Church in Little Falls. She leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, and unyielding faith.

Beloved wife of the late Salvatore Vonoflorio. Loving mother of Anthony Vonoflorio & his wife Anna Maria, Ciro Vonoflorio & his fiance Kristine Anemone, and AnnaMaria Karch & her husband Scott. Cherished grandmother of Alexandria, Tony, Salvatore K., Salvatore V., Gabriela, Brianna, Noah, and the late John. Dear sister of Rose Staal, Pina Cannella, and the late Stefano and Carmelo Cannella. Also survived by many adored nieces & nephews.

Friends & family are invited to pay their respects Tuesday 5-9PM at the Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home, 7 Two Bridges Rd., Fairfield. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Holy Angels Church Wednesday 10:30AM. Entombment Gate of Heaven Mausoleum.

In her passing, Concetta has left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew and loved her. May her memory be a blessing, and may she rest in eternal peace.
