Daniel Germaine, 86, of Edgewater, NJ, formerly of Palisades Park, on Monday, April 5, 2010. Beloved husband of the late Angelina Germaine. Loving father of Daniel & his wife Mary Germaine, Cheryl & her husband Robert Wavra and Christine & her husband David Stone. Dear brother of Father Kenneth Germaine and Alice Ingersoll. Cherished grandfather of Michael, Shannon, Robert, Daniel, Catherine, Steven, Jason & Brian. Adored great-grandfather of 7. Also survived by sister-in-law, protector and caregiver Loretta Marttini. Mr. Germaine attended Oregon State and was an Army veteran, retired Deputy Chief of Police in Palisades Park, past president of Palisades Park Board of Education, past treasurer and officer of PBA, member of the VFW and part owner of Matco TV. Daniel for many years devoted himself to children and enjoyed delighting all he saw as he served as Santa for many childrens groups and schools. He loved all sports, computers and gadgets of all kinds. His sense of humor defined him and he regaled in telling jokes and stories to all he met. He was famous for giving each person he met in January a single dollar bill for luck in the next year. Funeral Friday at 9AM from the Hunt Stellato Funeral Home, 1601 Palisade Ave., Fort Lee. Funeral Mass 10AM St. Nicholas R.C. Church, Palisades Park. Interment Madonna Cemetery. Friends will be received Wednesday 7-9PM and Thursday 2-4 & 7-9PM.
