David Robert Funsch

David Robert Funsch, 61, of Fairfield, NJ, passed away on Friday, August 27, 2021. Beloved husband of Lisa (nee Colavita) Funsch. Loving father of Ryan David Funsch. Adored son of the late John Funsch & Peg Funsch Rauschenberger. Cherished brother of Kathy & Craig Waldron, Doug & Susan Funsch, Eileen & Ray Mital, and Diane & Bill Thiede. Treasured son-in-law of Kathleen & Joseph Saccardi and step-son of Frank Rauschenberger. Brother-in-law of Lori & Richard Trovato, Lynn & Jon Struss, Leslie & Craig Cherry, and David & Renee Colavita. David will be greatly missed by his many beloved nieces and nephews, extended relatives, friends & his special buddy Colt Llauget.
David was a lifelong resident of Fairfield. Known around town as “Uncle Dave”. He was a graduate of West Essex High School and Roger Williams University. He had a successful career as an Account Rep at UBS.
He enjoyed golfing with his buddies every chance he could, especially his golf trips. He loved all things sports, the New York Yankees, the New York Giants, but most importantly the high school and college teams of his nieces and nephews. He never missed an event, no matter how big or small. David enjoyed the little things in life, poker games with his high school friends, Penn State tailgates, ice cream, but his favorite days were the holidays with his family. He will forever be known for his ability to lend a helping hand, to comfort you on a bad day, and to crack the best dad jokes known to mankind. He will be forever missed by all who knew him.
Funeral Tuesday 9AM from the Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home, 7 Two Bridges Road, Fairfield, New Jersey. Funeral Mass Tuesday at 10 AM St. Thomas More Church. Interment Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Friends will be received Monday 4 - 8PM.
