Dennis Michael Malia, 62, of Lyndhurst, New Jersey, passed away on February 20, 2017, while at Lyons VA Hospital. Dennis is predeceased by his parents, Peter & Angelina Malia, and his brother, Peter Malia. Dennis is lovingly remembered by his sister Arlene Traiger of Clifton; brother Bruce Malia of Secaucus, loving nieces, nephews and his very special friends Carrie Wright, Mike Marchesani & Teresa Burnett. Dennis was born in Jersey City, New Jersey in 1954 and attended Union City Public Schools. He joined the United States Navy in August of 1971. After his military service, he worked for Gallen Contracting in Hackensack for many years. Dennis enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson Motorcycle and rooting for his favorite football team, the New York Jets. Dennis was a long-time member of the Washington Democratic Club formally of Union City and also The Weehawken Elks Lodge 1456. Family and friends will be received Wednesday 6-8PM at the Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home, 425 Ridge Road, Lyndhurst. Service Wednesday at 7PM.
