Donald Pompei, 77, of Montville, NJ on Tuesday, November 29, 2011. Beloved husband of 56 years to Marie (nee DeFilippis) Pompei. Loving father of Dr. Dona & her husband Andy Diamond, Anthony & his wife Janet Pompei, and Thomas & his wife Donna Pompei. Adored Poppy of Cristin, Jenna, Thomas Jr., Toni, Jamie, Max, Nicole & Anthony Jr. Cherished brother-in-law of Angie & Esther DeFilippis. Devoted friend of Pat Gunick. Dear brother of Connie Brienza. Mr. Pompei was an Engineer at Ethicon in Somerville, NJ for over 15 years before retiring in 2001. He was an avid bridge player and a member of the Essex Bridge Club. Funeral Friday at 9:30 AM from the Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home, 7 Two Bridges Road, Fairfield. Funeral Mass 11 AM St. Lucy's R.C. Church, Newark. Cremation private. Friends will be received Thursday 3-8 PM.
