Donald Walter Kopczynski

Donald Walter Kopczynski, 87, lifelong resident of Edgewater, New Jersey passed away surrounded by his family on Sunday, February 7, 2021. He was born in Englewood to the late John Raymond Kopczynski & Wanda Antoinette Banaszynski. He was predeceased by his sister Joan Kopczynski and his brother John Kopczynski. Beloved husband of 64 years to Mary Eileen (nee Scheid) Kopczynski. Loving father of nine children, Donna & her husband Steve Celentano, Lisa & her husband Bill Higgins, Laura Kopczynski, Matthew & his wife Mayra Kopczynski, Joe & his late wife Maureen Kopczynski, Andrew & his wife Lorraine Kopczynski, Mark & his wife Joanie Kopczynski, Eileen & her husband Mark Spoto, and his late son David Kopczynski. Cherished grandfather of Scott, Colin, Ian, Dan, Brian, Keith, Sean, Leah, Ryan, Luke, Emma, Chase, and Brandon. He graduated from St. Cecilia's High School in Englewood. He was a US Army veteran serving from 1956-1962, stationed for two years at Fort Bragg, NC. Donald was a “master” of all trades. His professional career was as an Electronics Engineer. His close friends knew him as "Little Chops". He was a founder and lifelong member of American Legion Post 116 in Edgewater. He enjoyed traveling the world with family and friends. He was a faithful parishioner and Eucharistic minister of the Church of the Holy Rosary and compassionately volunteered his time to feed the poor. Family and friends will be received Friday 4 - 8PM at Hunt-Stellato Funeral Home, 1601 Palisade Avenue, Fort Lee. Funeral Mass Saturday 10AM at the Church of the Holy Rosary, family and friends are welcomed. Interment Madonna Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Cure SMA organization, curesma.org , in honor of his grandson Chase Kopczynski, or the American Cancer Society, cancer.org, would be sincerely appreciated.
