Smith, Douglas Robert, Heaven gained the most amazing father in the world on July 5th, 2020. We lost this extraordinary man suddenly and unexpectedly. He was 73 years old. Born on Sept 6, 1946 in Brooklyn NY to Isabel and Robert Smith. He lived his life loving and caring for his family. He belonged to the order of the Friars Minor. He married Valerie Barone (ex) and had two children Kelly Morvatz and Christopher Smith.
Douglas loved cooking, watching old cowboy movies, telling stories, sharing useless information and playing with his grandchildren Gage, Gabby and Kaleigh. He lit up a room with his smile and laugh. He loved with his whole heart. He was loved dearly by so many. He is predeceased by his mother and Father Isabel and Robert Smith. His nephew Craig Amling. He leaves a broken hearted Daughter and Son, 4 grandchildren. His sister and best friend Isabel and brother in law Bobby Amling, 5 nieces and nephews, 10 great nieces and nephews.
Funeral Friday at 9AM from the Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home, 425 Ridge Road, Lyndhurst. Funeral Mass 10AM Queen of Peace R.C Church. Entombment Rose Hills Memorial Park. Friends will be received Thursday 4-8PM.
