Eusebia "Seby" Alunen Nazarro, 82, of Newark, NJ returned to our Lord on Monday January 17, 2011 at UMDNJ in Newark.
She was born and raised in Rizal, Nueva Ecija, Philippines on August 27, 1928 to Ezequel Alunen and Magdalena Sabado Alunen. She, her husband and four children immigrated to the US and arrived on September 23, 1967. She worked as a Registered Nurse until her retirement in 2002.
"Seby" was a very active member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church. So much so, that she assisted her husband Laureto, along with close SDA friends and families in forming and creating The First Filipino Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Plainfield, NJ. Because of her passion nurturing and natural maternal instinct, she was known as "Mom", "Mommy", "Lola", "Manang", not only by her family, but by a great number of people within her church community and to an equally great number of people outside her community.
She was predeceased in death by her father, Ezequel; Mother, Magdalena; 4 sisters and 5 brothers, all whom resided in the Philippines. She is also predeceased by her only daughter-in-law, Angela "Lollie" Pennisi Nazarro, who passed away just 29 days prior.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Laureto V. Nazarro; daughter, Elva dela Cruz and her 2 children: Laurie and Laurel dela Cruz, of Newark, NJ; daughter, Evelyn Nazarro-Sigler and her husband, Rob Sigler of Ramsey, NJ and their 2 children: Robert and Alyssa; son Lauretto "Larry" Nazarro and his 2 children: Justine and "Lil" Larry, of Brick Twp., NJ; son Phil, of Newark, NJ and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. She also leaves behind many very close and dear friends.
Family and friends are invited to visit from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00pm on Thursday, January 20, 2011 at The First Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 712 West 3rd Street, Plainfield, NJ. A funeral service will take place on Friday, January 21, 2011 at 9:30am at the same location. Interment will immediately follow at Graceland Memorial Park, Kenilworth, NJ.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to assist in the passing of "Manang Seby".
