Faymurine E. Ortiz

It is with a heavy heart that I share the news of the passing of my beloved mother, FayMurine Evette Ortiz. Known for her vibrant spirit and adventurous nature, FayMurine was a warm and loving presence in the lives of everyone she touched. Her insatiable curiosity and self-taught wisdom defined her as a true fashionista and a remarkably strong woman.

Throughout her life, FayMurine was dedicated to spreading happiness to those around her. As a caring mother, she instilled in me, her daughter Melissa, the confidence and values that have guided my educational and professional successes.

In every role she embraced—whether as a mother, wife, sister, or friend—FayMurine's passion was always to uplift others and offer her support generously. Her quiet strength, often underestimated, revealed an inner resilience that inspired us all.

Her professional journey was equally notable. FayMurine took great pride in her 16 years working on Wall Street during its most dynamic periods. Her foresight on 9/11—having purchased a ferry ticket months prior—allowed her to safely return home that day, a story of intuition and strength that remains a powerful testament to her character.

Although the events of that day have now claimed her life, FayMurine's legacy of love, laughter, and optimism endures. Her spirit was a bright light, enriching the lives of all who knew her with her humor and hope.

FayMurine is survived by her devoted daughter Melissa Ortiz, her cherished sister Sandra Richards, and her husband Jose M. Ortiz.
