Frances Ruth Devens

Frances Ruth (Packard) Devens, 78, formerly of Fairfield, NJ passed away on Friday, November 14, 2014. A funeral service is planned for Wednesday, November 19, 2014, at 8:00 p.m. at Ippolito Stellato Funeral Home at 7 Two Bridges Road, Fairfield, NJ 07004. Born in Passaic, Fran grew up in Fairlawn, NJ and was Miss NJ State Fair in 1957. She raised her family in Fairfield, NJ with her late husband Frank Devens and later they both enjoyed their golden years on the east coast of Florida. Although she was so frail from a stroke she suffered 13 years ago, she gave us all such courage and hope and reminded us of the preciousness of life. She loved her sports, her family and had the will to never give up. She will always be remembered as a fighter.

Fran is the loving and devoted mother of Scott Devens and wife, Michele; Robert Devens and wife, Patty, Kelly Tamman and husband, Julian. She was the cherished grandmother of Daniele, Christine, Samantha, Declan, Connor, and Jenna; dear sister of Raymond Packard and wife, Jean and Doris Tanis and husband Cornelius.
