Calabrese, Frank Michael, 73, of Verona, NJ formerly of Fairfield passed away on Saturday, May 14, 2016. Beloved son of the late Catherine& Michael Calabrese. Loving father of Michael & his wife Karen Calabrese and Frank & his wife Allison Calabrese. Dear brother of Lillian& her husband Anthony Vizzuso. Adored grandfather of Matthew, Sarah, & Michaela. Devoted companion of Rose Marie Giordano. Also survived by his former spouse Denise Calabrese and many loving nieces & nephews. Frank's quick wit and humor will be greatly missed. Frank was a commercial artist at McGuggan LLC in Morristown. He was an extremely talented saxophonist who led the Barringer High School Blue Jackets stage band. After high school, during college, and until his passing he played and sang in a local entertainment group known as the Accidentals. This band traveled throughout the world and built great memories and friends all over the globe. Frank was also a gifted athlete who pitched for the Barringer High School baseball team, and participated in organized softball well into his sixties. He spent a significant part of his time working to help a number of charitable organizations---from the PG Chambers School to the Boys and Girls Clubs of Newark---sharing his creative and artistic skills with all of them. Frank's generosity knew no bounds and he always had a unique ability to make children and new friends happy to be with him. He will be sorely missed by family members but also by people he touched around the world. Funeral Tuesday at 9AM from the Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home, 7 Two Bridges Road, Fairfield, NJ. Funeral Mass 10AM St. Thomas More R.C. Church. Entombment Glendale Cemetery Mausoleum. Friends will be received Monday, 4-8PM.
