Fred N. Canta

Fred N. Canta, 91, of North Arlington, New Jersey, passed away on Sunday, January 3, 2021 of prostate cancer. Beloved husband of the late Marie Canta. Loving father of Leonard and Gerard Canta. Also survived by his loving nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his dear siblings. Mr. Canta was born in Lyndhurst and moved to North Arlington 64 years ago. He was a Korean War Army Veteran who fought at the Battle of Heartbreak Ridge. Funeral Wednesday 10AM from the Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home, 425 Ridge Road, Lyndhurst. Funeral Mass 10:30AM Sacred Heart R.C. Church. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery. Friends will be received Wednesday 8:30-10AM. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Marie Canta Fund, 101 Canterbury Avenue, North Arlington NJ 07031.
