Frederick F Ladanyi

Ladanyi, Frederick F.,(PhD), of Englewood Cliffs, NJ formerly of Astoria Queens, NY on Friday, April 7, 2006, 19 days before his 98th birthday. Beloved husband of Katherine (nee Unger). Loving father of Catherine Vajtay and the late Nicholas Ladanyi. Cherished grandfather of 6 and great-grandfather of 7. Mr. Ladanyi was a resident of Englewood Cliffs for 42 years. He recieved his PhD in
Economics from the University of Florence, MBA from NYU at 48 years old, & Diplom Kaufmann from Hochsehule Fur Welthandel in Vienna, Austria. He was an Economist & Accountant at Agency Manager Limited in NYC for 24 years, retiring in 1977. Mr. Ladanyi was a life-long Boy Scout, involved with the Hungarian Scouts Association Exteries & Schenectady Hungarian Benevolence Association.In 1932 he began his career with the National Bank of Hungary in Budapest later becoming a Director. In 1945 towards the end of WWII prior to the Soviet invasion of Hungary he left his homeland with his family, part of an entourage of 400 Central Bank employees, & their families, charged with the evacuation & safekeeping of Hungary's Gold Reserve - which was returned in its entirety after the was. He Lived & worked in Austria & England prior to coming to the US.Funeral Mass Wednesday 10:30am at Holy Trinity R.C. Church. Fort Lee. Interment in Brookside Cemetery, Englewood, NJ. Friends will be recieved Tuesday 5-8PM.
