George Paul Tiefenworth

September 7, 1943 — June 25, 2016

George P Tiefenworth passed away suddenly on June 25th at his home in Manahawkin, New Jersey. George was born and raised in Bayonne, New Jersey before moving to Manahawkin 15 years ago. As a youth George excelled in many sports but really had a passion for baseball. George eventually became a varsity baseball player at Bayonne High School. After high school, George worked at Western Electric where he retired as a tool and dye-maker. He also spent time as a volunteer coach with the Bayonne Little League. As an adult, George enjoyed bowling, golfing, playing cards, and most of all spending time with his family. He regularly took many of his nieces and nephews on summer long road trip vacations to Clearwater, Florida. These vacations created memories that will never be forgotten by any of them. George was also a dedicated life-long fan of the New York Yankees and rarely missed watching a game.

George was predeceased by his parents George and Pauline(nee Fetchko) and brother-in-law Antonio Affinito. He was a loving and devoted brother to his sisters; Margot(Andrew) Adamcik, Pauline(Donald) Majoros, and Rita(Antonio) Affinito.

George was a beloved and adored uncle of Drew Adamcik, Lisa Adamcik-Maguire, Amy Adamcik-Mezger, David Affinito, Steven Affinito, Chris Adamcik, Scott Godesky, Mark Adamcik, Michael Godesky, and Karen Adamcik-Piszel. The memories he created and lessons he taught all of them will last forever. George will also be missed by many great-nieces and nephews.

Funeral Thursday June 30 10AM from the Koch Funeral Home, 691 Avenue C, Bayonne. Funeral Service 11AM St. John's Byzantine Catholic Church 15 East 26th Street, Bayonne. Interment to follow Holy Cross Cemetery. Friends will be received Wednesday, June 29 3-7PM Pankhida service 6PM. In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to Derek Jeter's Turn 2 Foundation, Inc 215 Park Avenue South Suite 1905 , New York, NY 10003.
