Gerard A. Lupo

January 17, 1938 — August 11, 2023

Gerard Anthony Lupo, fondly known as Jerry, passed away on August 11, 2023, at the age of 85 in Wayne, NJ. He was born on January 17, 1938, in Newark, NJ to Gerard and Josephine (née Caruso) Lupo.

Jerry was a passionate sports enthusiast with a deep love for golf, football, and baseball. As a skilled golfer, he excelled in the sport and found joy in every swing. In high school, Jerry's athletic abilities were shown as he became a state champion in football and an integral part of the basketball team at Barringer High School. His talents extended to college football, where he continued to shine at Central Connecticut State University. Beyond his own playing career, Jerry gave back to the community by coaching both youth football and baseball, nurturing young talents. His loyalty to the Yankees and the Giants showcased his unwavering support for his favorite teams. Jerry also demonstrated his unwavering commitment to his country by serving in the Army Reserves.

Jerry continued his education and received his degree from Newark College of Engineering. He excelled in his career as a Professional Land Surveyor, playing a pivotal role in co-owning Richlan, Lupo - subsequently transforming into Richlan Lupo & Pronesti, and ultimately becoming Richlan Lupo & Associates. His expertise in the field was highly regarded, and he made significant contributions to the industry.

As a lively retiree, Jerry found his slice of paradise in Florida. Between rounds of golf, he traveled on getaways with his current wife Stephanie to villas in Tuscany, sailing the coast of Scotland, and cruising through Greek islands. When he wasn't traveling, his evenings were spent enjoying happy hour with his wife and friends at his favorite spot, Johnny Longboats. Family gatherings were particularly important to him, and he cherished the moments shared with his loved ones.

Jerry leaves behind an enduring legacy woven with love and devotion. He is survived by his sons, Gerard N. Lupo, Richard A. and his cherished wife Robin Lupo, and Steven R. alongside his beloved wife Carmella Lupo. The imprint of his affection extends to his granddaughters: Nicole Lupo, Danielle Lupo, and Raquel Lupo. In addition, he is survived by his beloved brother John Lupo. Furthermore, Jerry is also survived by his dear wife of 13 years, Stephanie Murphy Lupo.

Jerry was preceded in death by the love of his life Lorraine K. Lupo. They were childhood sweethearts who met in Newark, NJ and became husband and wife in 1958. Jerry and Lorraine shared a beautiful life together for 48 loving years and it gives his family comfort knowing they are now united together again.

Jerry is also predeceased by his sister Joanne Lupo, and his parents Gerard and Josephine. He held them close to his heart and will be deeply missed.
