Geronima "Gero" Roman, a beacon of love and faith, passed away peacefully on January 15, 2025, at Clara Maass Medical Center in Belleville, New Jersey, at the age of 90. Born on July 20, 1934, in the beautiful town of Cidra, Puerto Rico, Gero was a woman whose life was marked by an unwavering dedication to her family and an enduring commitment to her faith.
Gero's journey led her from the warmth of Puerto Rico to Newark, NJ, where she met her husband. Her life was a testament to selflessness, as she devoted herself to nurturing her family and serving her community with a kind and generous heart. Gero's presence was a source of comfort and strength to all who were fortunate enough to know her.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Justo Roman Sr., and her cherished son, Justo Roman Jr. Her legacy of love continues through her daughters, Soraida Muniz (husband Jose) and Marissa DiPaolo (husband Rocco). Gero's spirit will forever be reflected in the lives of her adoring grandchildren, Gabriel, Michele, Amanda, Brittany, and Samantha, as well as her treasured great-grandchildren, Cloe, Miley, Olivia, Nolan, and Greyson.
Gero's life was a living example of the virtues she held dear. Her faith-filled soul guided her through life's challenges and triumphs, inspiring those who knew her to embrace life with grace and gratitude.
