Gertrude "Trudie" Molnar, born in Kearny, a lifelong resident of Lyndhurst, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on August 16, 2023. Born on February 11, 1922, Trudie lived an extraordinary life marked by tireless dedication to her community, boundless love for her family, and a remarkable embodiment of her faith. A beacon of love and selflessness, Trudie's impact on those surrounding her was as profound and genuine as the life she led. 


 Trudie leaves behind a legacy of love and commitment, demonstrated through her cherished relationships with her family and friends. She was a devoted wife to her late husband, Joseph Molnar Jr., and a beloved mother to her children: Joseph III and his wife Rosie, Gregory and his wife Barbara, Mary and her husband Edward Jinks, and son-in-law Paul and his wife Helen Nicastro. Trudie was predeceased by her son Paul Molnar, and daughter Patricia Nicastro. She was a loving and doting grandmother to Florence Nicastro, Christine Aguirre, Jennifer & her husband Michael Bono, Joseph Molnar & Rachel, Amanda & her husband Angel Batista, Edward 4th & his wife Hannah Jinks, Beth & her husband Michael Coletta, Kenneth & his wife Loren Jinks, and Kimberly & her husband Ronald Masi, and was predeceased by her grandchildren, Tina-Marie & her husband Alfred Murphy and Paul Nicastro Jr. Trudie was also blessed with numerous great-grandchildren and great-greatgrandchildren, each of whom she held dear in her heart. Trudie was predeceased by her 12 siblings, but their memories lived on in her rich life stories. 


 Trudie was a woman of many interests and passions. A lifetime Girl Scout, she served as a committed scout leader for 30 years, instilling values of community and service in generations of young women. Her devotion to her faith was unwavering and evident in her active involvement in her church. Trudie had an irrepressible zest for life. Whether playing raquetball, swimming at King's Court, participating in Alti's classes, or engaging in spirited games of cards with family and friends, Trudie always approached life with enthusiasm and joy.


 Trudie couched her many hobbies and interests with a deep sense of community. Everything she did, she did for others. This selflessness, combined with her faith-filled life and boundless love for her family, made her a cornerstone of the Lyndhurst community. Her commitment to service, her unwavering faith, and her familial ties formed the pillars of a life that was caring, generous, and influential. 


 Trudie was a cornerstone of strength and resilience, a comforting presence during times of difficulty and a gregarious companion in moments of joy. Whether leading her Girl Scout Troop, engaging in a lively game of cards, or sharing words of wisdom with her grandchildren, Trudie was a beacon of warmth, love, and understanding. Her optimistic outlook, infectious laughter, and the joy she derived from simple pleasures serve as enduring memories for those who had the fortune to know her.


 In her 101 years, Gertrude "Trudie" Molnar lived a life of purpose, leaving behind a legacy that will echo in the hearts of those she touched. She was a beacon of light in her community, a matriarch in her family, and a steadfast source of faith and love. She will be profoundly missed, but her teachings and the love she spread will never be forgotten.


  Funeral Service Friday 10:30AM at the Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home, 425 Ridge Road, Lyndhurst. Interment Arlington Cemetery. Friends will be received Friday 9-10:30AM.
