Giulio Maestoso, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and talented painter, passed away peacefully on February 24, 2025, at the age of 87. He was Born on March 28, 1937, in San Giuseppe Jato, Palermo, Sicily, Italy to Ettore & Catherine (nee DiMaggio) Maestoso where he proudly served his country in the Italian Army.
After marrying his beloved wife, Lucy, in October 1963, Giulio made the courageous decision to immigrate to the United States in 1964, settling in Newark, New Jersey. Eventually, the family moved to Belleville, where Giulio worked tirelessly as a self-employed painter for nearly 40 years. His passion for his craft was evident in the countless homes he transformed with his skillful brushwork and artistic flair and cleanliness.
Devoted husband of Lucy (nee Cannella) Maestoso. Loving father of Ettore, Philip & his wife Marie, and Sergio & his wife Michelle. Cherished Nonno of Nicholas, Victoria, Ettore "EJ," Justin, Christopher, Sergio Jr., Sebastian and the late Anthony. Dear brother of the late Salvatore, Pietra, Vincenza, Frank, and Nicola. He cherished every moment with his family, imparting lessons of love, perseverance, and hardwork. As we gather to remember Giulio Maestoso, we hold dear the legacy of his love and unwavering dedication to family. He will be profoundly missed but will forever remain in our hearts.
Funeral Mass Saturday 11AM at the St. Thomas More Church. Entombment Glendale Cemetery. Giulio's family will welcome visitors Friday 4-9PM at Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home, 7 Two Bridges Rd., Fairfield.
