Harold George Lukachyk

Harold G. Lukachyk, 85, of Lyndhurst, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 16, 2022, surrounded by his loving family. Beloved husband of 64 years to Mary Ann (nee Bogus) Lukachyk. Loving father of Lisa Motichka, Wendy & her husband Richard Gallo, and Harold & his wife Kris Lukachyk. Cherished grandfather of Alexa & her husband Joe Alvarado, Christopher Motichka, Nina & her husband Michael Godfrey, Shana Motichka & her boyfriend Andrew Silver, Samantha, Ava, & Evan Gallo, and Thomas Lukachyk. Adored great-grandfather of Grace, Michael, and Avery. Dear brother of Joan & her husband Steve Kozlowski and the late Theodore, Theresa, and Robert Lukachyk. Harold was a 1956 graduate of Lincoln High School in Jersey City, where he was a standout athlete, being named All State in both football and baseball. Mr. Lukachyk was a US Army Veteran serving from 1956-1961. While serving in Germany, he continued playing football with the Army. He worked in the Laboratory for Coca-Cola Company before transferring to Pepsi to continue his career before retiring. After his retirement, he became a Crossing Guard in Lyndhurst and was an active member of the American Legion. Funeral Monday at 9 am, from the Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home, 425 Ridge Road, Lyndhurst. Funeral Mass at 10 am at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery. Friends will be received Sunday 3-7 pm. Donations may be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
