Harold W. Sommers

Harold W. Sommers, a beloved father and grandfather, passed away on November 21, 2024, in Lyndhurst, New Jersey, at the age of 81. He was born on June 24, 1943, in Jersey City. He moved to North Arlington at age 17,  before settling in Lyndhurst since 1968. Harold dedicated many years of his life to his work and his family.

Harold, a devoted father, leaves behind his loving children Sheri & her husband Richard Jarvis, Michael & his wife Mindy Sommers, and Richard Sommers along with his cherished grandchildren Kaitlyn, Sierra, Megan, Matthew, Isaiah, Jasmine, and Shiloah. He is predeceased by his loving wife, Ella (nee McGuire) Sommers.

He was a respected figure in his community and a dedicated employee of 37 years at PSE&G, where he worked diligently as a Lineman Supervisor.

A man of integrity and hard work, Harold will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy will continue to live on through his family and the countless lives he touched during his lifetime.

In honor of Harold W. Sommers, a funeral service will be held Monday, 11am at the Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home, 425 Ridge Road, Lyndhurst. Entombment to follow Holy Cross Chapel Mausoleum. Friends & family will be received Sunday 2-6 PM.
