Helen Kohli

Helen Kohli(nee Stahlin), 85, a resident of Lyndhurst for 57 years, passed away on Wednesday, September 4, 2013 at Brandywine Senior Living in Toms River, NJ. Helen is survived by her loving children: Pat Anderson, Lynn & John Rogers, Denise & Tom Powers, and Tom & Peg Kohli. She will be missed by her grandchildren: Kevin & Elyssa Rogers, Brian Rogers, Elizabeth Kohli, Daniel Kohli, Anna Kohli, Thomas Powers, and Steven Anderson. Helen leaves behind her brother, William Stahlin and many nieces and nephews who always enjoyed spending time with her and seeing her smiling face. Helen was born and raised in Jersey City where she attended St. Dominic's Academy and upon graduation, she worked as a secretary in New York City. Shortly thereafter, she met her loving husband, Fred, and was married for 59 years. They resided in Jersey City for a few years before moving to Lyndhurst and raising their family. Helen was a doting wife and mother. She always welcomed family and friends to her home and made sure to offer them food and beverages. Helen constantly prepared baked goods for all to enjoy! Helen was active in numerous social groups in her later years: Sacred Heart Seniors, Lyndhurst Seniors, Mount Carmel Seniors and AARP #4866. She always enjoyed having a fun time with her friends. Many thanks go out to the nurses and staff at Brandywine Senior Living in Toms River for their dedication and devotion in assisting with Helen's care and comfort. A special thank you to Nina Kvaratskhelia, who became part of Helen's family. She loved, cared, and supported her to the end. Also, thanks to those at St. Barnabas Hospice in making Helen's final days as comfortable as possible. Funeral Monday at 9:30 AM from the Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home, 425 Ridge Road, Lyndhurst. Funeral Mass 10:30 AM Sacred Heart R.C. Church. Cremation will be private. Memories of Helen's life will be shared on Sunday from 2-6 PM.
