Henry J. Prince, 74, of Fairfield, NJ on Monday, June 29, 2009. Beloved Husband of the late Matilda (nee Mersico). Loving Father of Barbara Ege, Carol Gillooly & Rita Abarca. Dear Brother of Jean Sheldon, Rev. Leo Prince and the late Richard Prince. Cherished Grandfather of Philip and Jennifer Craft & Diana Hardy. Henry was born and raised in Walton, NY and was actively involved in sports at Walton High School where he played on the football, basketball and baseball teams. He served his country in the US Navy during the Korean War and later in the US Air Force Reserves. He attended the Community College of the USA Air Force, received his Associate in Aviation and graduated as flight engineer in 1977. Previously he received flight training at American Flyers Inc, United Airlines Overseas National Airlines, Saturn Airways Inc, Trans International Airlines and ITT Federal Electric Corp in Rome, Italy. In his long aeronautical career he earned FAA Licenses in Advanced Ground Instructor, Flight Instructor, Flight Engineer, Commercial Pilot and Airline Transport Pilot. Mr. Prince was a Safety Inspector for the FAA in JFK International Airport for 37 years. Funeral Friday at 9 AM from the Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home, 7 Two Bridges Road, Fairfield. Funeral Mass 10 AM St. Thomas More R.C. Church. Interment Margaretville Cemetery, Margaretville, NY. Friends will be received Thursday 2-4 & 7-9 PM.
