Jacqueline Herzog, 96,Beloved mother and grandmother Jacqueline Herzog, a longtime Fairfield resident, died Wednesday, Oct. 9, at New Jersey Eastern Star Rehabilitation and Nursing, Bridgewater. She was 96. "Jackie" was born on 3'* Street in Passaic in 1928. She married the love of her life, Homer Herzog, in 1949. A 1946 graduate of Passaic High School, she worked before her marriage as an operator for Bell Telephone in Passaic, and many years later as a receptionist for Organon Pharmaceuticals in Pine Brook and Ricoh Corporation in Fairfield. Jackie had an infectious laugh and a sense of fun that charmed everyone who knew her. She was a voracious reader who passed her passion of reading on to her sons, and she was a frequent patron of the Fairfield Public Library. Jackie also enjoyed Tai Chi classes, a good chat with her friends over lunch, and family gatherings. Jackie was a member of the Fairfield chapter of the Red Hat Society, and loved attending their luncheons and outings.  Her beloved husband, Homer, died in 1986. She is survived by her two sons, Garry Herzog and his wife Virginia Van Houten of Landing; Trace Herzog and his wife Claire of Basking Ridge; and three granddaughters, Kate, Erin and Lily Herzog. Jackie often bragged, "I have three beautiful granddaughters. Smart, too!"
