James Albert Vida

James Albert Vida, 88, of Jersey City, New Jersey, passed away on Tuesday, January 18, 2022. Beloved husband of the late Rosemarie. Loving father of Jay Vida and Jasmin Raab & her husband Donald. Cherished grandfather of Alicia, Amy, Angela, Amanda, Christopher, Hayley, and Matthew. Dear brother of John Vida and the late George Vida, Jr. James was an Army Veteran who severed during the Korean War and a member of the Korean War Association of Bayonne. He was employed by Western Electric before retiring. James was a Church lector and Eucharistic minister for Our Lady of Mercy in Jersey City. He was a volunteer for Our Lady of Mercy CYO and a coach for Bayonne Little League at the beginning of the 1950's. Bowling, sports, and puzzles were some of his favorite activities. He loved time with his family and teaching his kids and grandkids to play basketball. He was a hardworking, fun loving man who loved to meet and talk with everyone. Funeral Tuesday 9AM from the Caiola-Stellato Funeral Home, 691 Avenue C, Bayonne. Funeral Mass 10AM Our Lady of Mercy. Interment Holy Name Cemetery. Friends will be received Monday 4-8PM.
