James Joseph Ciampi

James Joseph Ciampi, 31, of Fairfield, New Jersey passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Monday, September 9, 2024. Beloved son of Gregory & Rosalie (nee Cafone) Ciampi. Loving brother of Cristina & her husband Scott Winston, Greg & his wife Tara Ciampi and Madelyn Ciampi. Cherished uncle of Sofia Rose & Madison Rose. Also survived by many dedicated aunts, uncles and cousins. Jimmy graduated from West Essex High School before going on to receive his Bachelor's Degree from Rutgers University. He was pursing his Master's Degree at Seton Hall University. He had a profound love for his family and the Fairfield community and in turn dedicated himself to the Fairfield Police Department where he received many accolades. He received 4 lifesaving citations, 3 unit citations, and 1 meritorious service citation. He received a gallantry star from the FFPD and valor awards from the 200 Club of Essex County. His courage and bravery were immense but his ability to make those around him feel comfortable and at ease was unmatched. Jimmy was proud of his physicality and was awarded the PT Award in his academy class and later went on to be an Instructor at the Police Academy. Ciampi could often be found lifting weights at the local gym, he competed in two NPC Bodybuilding Competitions and won both in his weight class. His downtime was spent at the beach relaxing, reading an unending number of books, or gaming with his friends. Funeral Friday 8:30AM from the Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home, 7 Two Bridges Road, Fairfield. Funeral Mass Friday 10AM St. Thomas More Church. Interment Immaculate Conception Cemetery.
