Jane A Tarasko

Tarasko, Jane Agnes (nee Bulkowski) of Wayne, formerly of Rutherford and Lyndhurst, was called home by our Lord on Friday, June 17, 2011. She was 91 years old. Her final 6 years were spent in Sunrise Assisted Living of Wayne. Jane was the devoted wife for 50 years of the late Sylvan "Joe" Tarasko who departed this life in 1982. She was the loving mother and best friend to her daughter, Carol Whittaker and her husband William of Wayne. She leaves two step-grandchildren, Wendy Holmberg and her husband Richard of Sarasota, FL and Scott Whittaker and his fiance Janet Krom of Waymart, PA. She is predeceased by her three sisters: Mary Wilczynski, Elizabeth Cieszynski, and Estelle Pfeiffer as well as brothers Frank Bulkowski and Paul Bulkowski. Jane also leaves behind many nieces and nephews who were always very dear to her. Jane was born in Lyndhurst August 5, 1919 to Veronica and Adam Bulkowski. She was the youngest of six children. Before her marriage she worked at RCA in Harrison as a tube tester. As a wife and mother she stayed home and was as an exceptional homemaker. She always made time to entertain family and friends with her delicious meals and baked goods. She became an Avon Representative and continued to sell her products for more than 30 years. For many years Jane was an avid bowler at Wallington Lanes. She was a lifelong member of the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary, and the AARP. She loved vacations with the family - whether it was cruise to Bermuda or the Caribbean, or a car trip to Florida, Maine, or Pennsylvania. And you didn't have to ask her twice to take a trip to Atlantic City. Jane was always there when it was time to celebrate a special occasion or holiday, and added her special charm and wit to the dinner table. She will be dearly missed and always in our hearts. Funeral Wednesday at 8:30AM from the Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home, 425 Ridge Road, Lyndhurst, NJ. Funeral Mass 9:30AM St. Michael's R.C. Church. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery. Friends will be received Tuesday 2-4 & 7-9PM.
