Jane T. Melone

Melone, Jane T. (nee Campanella), 93, of Lyndhurst, NJ died at home Saturday, October 11, 2008. She was pre-deceased by her beloved husband Raymond Melone. She is the loving mother of Joseph Melone and his wife Florence of Upper Montclair and Justine Melone of Cedar Grove. She is also survived by her dear sister Catherine Arecchi LaBarbera and her cherished grandchildren, Rameka Whitehurst, Jodi Guzzardo, Stephen Whitehurst, and Justine Melone. Born in Jersey City, Mrs. Melone lived in North Bergen before moving to Lyndhurst 60 years ago. Mrs. Melone was the co-owner of The San Carlo Restaurant in Lyndhurst for 50 years, retiring in 1994. In 1948 Mrs. Melone and her husband Raymond and his brother Rudy and his wife Ruth Melone took a small neighborhood pizzeria and turned it into one of the restaurant and catering landmarks of South Bergen County. The funeral will be Thursday, at 8:30AM from the Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home, 425 Ridge Rd., Lyndhurst, NJ with a funeral Mass at 9:30AM at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel R.C. Church. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. Friends will be received Tuesday 7-9PM & Wednesday 2-4 & 7-9PM.
