Janet Leo

Janet Leo, beloved family Matriarch, Iron Chef, Merrill Lynch Lifer, champion of finding a good deal, and family described “The Don”, died peacefully surrounded by family on September 12, 2024.

She was born in Manhattan in 1933 to James and Filomena Sorrentino. Janet was a proud graduate of Cathedral High School and attended Hunter College while working at Merrill Lynch (she was a loyal, 50-year Mother Merrill employee).

Janet was preceded in death by her husband Peter Leo, parents James and Filomena Sorrentino and brother-in-law William Panzarino. She is survived by her sisters Charlotte Sorrentino and Joyce Panzarino, her children Joseph and Marice Leo and grandchild Cletis Leo who will all miss her dearly.

Memorial Mass is 11am Saturday, October 12th, 2024, at Saint Nicholas Roman Catholic Church in Palisades Park, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Richmond Community Services (https://richmondcommserv.org/).
