John "Bud" R. Houghton

John R. "Bud" Houghton, 83, born and raised in Lyndhurst, passed on Monday, September 5, 2016. Beloved husband of Marguerite (nee Schneider). Devoted father of Marguerite Williams & her husband Gary, Patricia Vecchione, Deborah Kaslaitis & her husband Peter, Laurie Nowinski & her husband Marc. Dear Brother of Joan Dawson, Joyce Molzon, the late Eugene Houghton, Pat Pawlowski, and Cathy Curriero. Cherished grandfather of John, Katie, Danielle, Gary, P.J., Sean, Joseph and Kathleen, and great-grandfather of Veronica, McKenna and Zachary. Before retiring, John was an assistant manager with New Jersey Bell. He was an Army Veteran, who proudly served on the Presidential Honor Guard in Washington D.C., and later was a member of the Lyndhurst Elks #1505 for 61 years, achieving rank of Trustee, and American Legion of Lyndhurst Post 139. John will be remembered as a loving father, husband, grandfather and great-grandfather. Funeral Service Thursday 10AM from the Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home, 425 Ridge Road, Lyndhurst. Funeral Mass 11AM Our Lady of Mt Carmel Church. Entombment Holy Cross Chapel Mausoleum. Friends will be received Wednesday 4-8 PM.
