John M. DiStaulo, 77, of Denville, NJ, passed away peacefully in his sleep at St. Claire's Hospital on February 5, 2025.
Born on July 11, 1947, in Jersey City, NJ, John was the beloved son of James and Ida DiStaulo (née Pandolf). He is survived by his brother, Joseph DiStaulo, and his wife, Therese (née Hillmann), as well as his sister, Carol Griffoul, and her husband, Roger. He was predeceased by his youngest brother, Charlie. John cherished his family deeply, especially his niece, Kristie Griffoul; his nephews, Brian Griffoul (and his daughters, Adriana and Valentina Griffoul), James DiStaulo, and Christopher DiStaulo.
He built a career on Wall Street, working for many years as a Mail Room Facilitator for several prestigious firms. His sharp intellect, near-photographic memory, and unmatched retention for names, dates, and details made him a wealth of knowledge and an incredible storyteller.
Though John was a private and reclusive man, those fortunate enough to enter his close circle knew his kindness, thoughtfulness, and unwavering loyalty. He had a quirky sense of humor and a rare but infectious laugh that could light up a room. He always remembered and asked about the people he cared for, showing his love in quiet but meaningful ways.
In accordance with John's wishes, a simple service will be held on Wednesday, February 12, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home, 425 Ridge Road, Lyndhurst, NJ 07071.
John will be deeply missed, but his memory will remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
