John "Duke" Byrd

John "Duke" Byrd, Jr., 63, of Hazlet, New Jersey, formerly of Jersey City, New Jersey passed away on Wednesday, September 30, 2020. Beloved son of the late John & Rose (nee Benedetto) Byrd. Loving brother of Madelyn Cammerino & her husband Jack and the late Kenneth Byrd. Cherished uncle of George Collette, Jr. & Scott Cammerino. Adored granduncle of Dylan Collette. John graduated from Dickinson High School, Jersey City, class of 1975 where he was a football player. He was an avid New York Giants & Yankee fan. Mr. Byrd worked as a Warehouseman at Sika in Lyndhurst. He was a kind hearted man with a wonderful sense of humor and will be dearly missed by his friends and family. Friends will be received Tuesday 8:30AM-12:30PM at the Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home, 425 Ridge Road, Lyndhurst. Funeral Mass Tuesday 1PM Queen of Peace Church. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association, PO Box 7023, Merrifield VA 22116-7023.
