John E. Minko

Minko, John E. 76, of North Arlington, NJ died on Saturday, December 31, 2011. Born in Jersey City, he lived there and Secaucus before moving to North Arlington in 1966. Mr. Minko was employed by IBM for approximately 35 years as a customer service representative. He served in the U.S. Army from 1954 to 1956. He was a member of the North Arlington Knights of Columbus. Mr. Minko was a volunteer driver for the American Cancer Society for several years and also was a volunteer with the Christian Appalachian Project in Mt. Vernon, Kentucky as a camp counselor for a few summers. Mr. Minko is survived by his wife, Catherine Minko, his sisters, Ann Lazar & Jeannette Minko, his nephew, Dr. Michael Lazar & his wife Krista, two grandnieces, Mikayla and Madison Lazar and a grandnephew, Cameron Lazar. Funeral Wednesday at 9AM from the Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home, 425 Ridge Road, Lyndhurst, NJ. Funeral Mass 10AM St. Michael's R.C. Church. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery. Friends will be received Tuesday 4-8PM.
