John Edward Simonowicz

John Edward Simonowicz, 77, of Pompton Lakes, New Jersey passed away on Sunday, July 9, 2023. Beloved husband of Donna (nee DeWeil) Simonowicz and loving father of Nicole Simonowicz. Dear brother of Carole Hardick & her partner Bob Lyke and Mary Jane Perodeau & her husband Gerry. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. John was a proud US Army veteran who served during Vietnam, was a member of the engineering team that helped build the LEM for NASA, and finally found his passion for sales which he pursued until his retirement. He was a remarkably strong man - both physically and emotionally, truly charming, and had a gift for turning strangers into friends. He loved fishing, gardening, his rescue dogs, traveling, and going on adventures with his family. In his last few years, he enjoyed and cherished the simple pleasure of spending quality time with the people he loved most in the world. Friends will be received Thursday 4 - 8PM at the Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home, 7 Two Bridges Road, Fairfield, Cremation Private.
