John A. Golon

John A. Golon, 82, of Fort Lee, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 15, 2024. John was the beloved husband to the love of his life, the late Theresa “Terry” Golon and son-in-law to the late Theresa Finizio Cerwinski. He is pre-deceased by his parents John and Olga Golon. John will be deeply missed by his surviving brother Bob Golon and his wife Jill Golon, and by his sister Patricia Foucault and her husband Ernie Foucault. He was an adored uncle to Jay Golon and his wife Devra Lobel, and to Janet Fithian and her husband Justin Fithian. He was also a caring great uncle to Jamie Golon, Izzy Golon, Alex Schmeelk, and Camryn Schmeelk. John was a devoted father filled with everlasting love to the late Sandra Golon and a committed stepfather to David Johnson and the late, but never forgotten, Doreen “DJ” Falcon who is survived by her loving husband Glenn Falcon. John was a truly cherished grandfather, known affectionately as “Poppy,” to Samantha Falcon, Christen Falcon, and Jacqueline Yarosz and her husband Alfred “Dalton” Yarosz.

John will be remembered for his immense and eternal love of his late wife Terry, the great outdoors, music, fly fishing, and for his love of pugs; he is pre-deceased by Brandi and survived by Molly. He will be dearly missed by many for his quick-witted humor and attentive ear. John was also a lifetime member of the Elks Lodge No. 60 and a dedicated member of the Hudson River Fishermen’s Association.

Family and friends will be received Sunday, June 23rd from 2-6PM at the Hunt Stellato Funeral Home located at 1601 Palisade Avenue, Fort Lee, NJ, 07024. The funeral will be held Monday, June 24th at 10AM also at the Hunt Stellato Funeral Home. The funeral mass will be held at 11AM at the Madonna Church on the Hill with interment at the Madonna Cemetery located at 2070 Hoefleys Ln, Fort Lee, NJ 07024. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hudson River Fishermen’s Association.
