John J. Pierro Jr., 73, of Lyndhurst, died peacefully on June 3, 2008 at Compassionate Care Hospice in Dover, with his devoted family surrounding him. Jack, as he was known to all, was born in Passaic and lived in Passaic, Jersey City and North Arlington before residing in Lyndhurst for 50 years. Jack owned Pierro's Circle Exxon in Jersey City and was a master auto mechanic. He served as a member of the Army National Guard of New Jersey from 1957 to 1963. He was also a member of the Independent Men's Club in Lyndhurst. Jack loved telling jokes and stories, especially about growing up with his brothers and sisters, his days in the service, cars and his courtship with his loving wife of 51 years, Connie. His daughters, Joanne and Lori brought him much love and happiness as did his grandchildren, Jennifer and Kevin. Jack leaves behind his devoted wife Connie (nee Verga), his loving daughters Joanne and her husband Bruce Marchesani, and Lori and her husband Nick Szilvassy, cherished grandchildren Jennifer and Kevin Kritsky and admired step-grandchildren Ashley and Ryan Szilvassy. He also leaves behind his brothers Larry, Denny and Donnie Pierro and sister Maureen Bresnanhan.
