John J. Quick, passed away on May 24, 2007, at Morristown Memorial Hospital. He was 55 years old. John earned a Bachelor of Science degree, in Accounting, from Villanova University in 1973, a Masters in Business Administration from Fairleigh Dickinson University in 1976, and Juris Doctor from Seton Hall University School of Law in 1980.
John was the General Tax Counsel for Loews Corporation in New York City. Prior to Loews, John was the Director, Taxation for Yamanouchi Pharma America of Paramus and Assistant Vice President for Tax of Beneficial Corporation of Peapak. He also worked for two public accounting firms.
John held several administrative assignments. He was a member of the Board of Trustees of the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants; a member of the Board of Trustees and Vice President of the New Jersey Chapter of the Tax Executives Institute (YEI); Chair of the New Jersey CPA Society State Taxation Committee; a member of the New Jersey Supreme Court Committee on the Tax Court; the New Jersey State Treasurer's Tax Advisory Group and Chair of the New Jersey CPA Society State Taxation Committee.
John is survived by his beloved wife of twenty-six years, June (nee Tutuska). He is also survived by his son, John S. Quick, a third-year student at New York University School of Medicine and daughter, Jessica, a Junior at West Essex Regional High School. He was the beloved son of Florence Quick and the late John F. Quick of Little Falls; brother of Robert Quick and his wife, Marilyn, of Virginia Beach, Virginia; and David Quick and his wife, Susan, of Little Falls. John was also the cherished son-in-law of Dorothea Tutuska of Wayne and brother-in-law of Susan Wilcoxon and her husband, Samuel Wilcoxon, of Schaumburg, Illinois. Visitation will be held on Monday, from 2-4 and 7-9PM at the Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home, 7 Two Bridges Road, Fairfield. The Funeral Mass will be on Tuesday at 10 AM at St. Thomas More RC Church in Fairfield. Interment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover
